The long awaited 8th Annual CKCS Beach Party invitation has arrived. I do hope to see you all on Saturday, April 18th from 1 to 4 pm at the foot of Scenic and 13th. I will send out additional details regarding parking, weather forecast, etc. as the date draws closer.
Our theme this year is "Cavaliers Rock & Roll". New this year, we will be having a costume contest with lots of special awards for best dressed (oldest, youngest, 2 and 4 legged, group, etc).
Rumor has it that there may be multiple Cavalier Elvis sightings so you will not want to miss this one!
As many folks know, we always have plenty of food, drink and activities. We do not charge for this event, but hope to raise lots of money through donations and raffles for a local and very worthwhile group Animal Friends Rescue Project. These hardworking people, mostly volunteers, do a great job of helping our companions (both dogs and cats) who have not led lives as fortunate as our Cavaliers.
We have suggested a donation of $15./adult, $5./children, $40./family -- but this is merely a suggestion -- we are happy to have you participate and enjoy an afternoon at the beach with a great gang of two and four legged attendees.
Everyone making a donation will receive ONE raffle ticket. Additional tickets will also be available, which will increase your chances of winning a fabulous prize (and donating to a worthwhile cause).
I will also be sending out in a separate email a request for assistance for the day of the party. If you are local, or will be coming into town on the Friday evening before the event perhaps you would consider helping with early morning set up. It shouldn't take more than an hour or so. We will also need help during the party - greeting guests, name tags, selling raffle tickets, helping with the costume contest, setting out food, etc. Nothing too onerous, but activities which will ensure everyone has a great time.
