The long awaited 8th Annual CKCS Beach Party invitation has arrived. I do hope to see you all on Saturday, April 18th from 1 to 4 pm at the foot of Scenic and 13th. I will send out additional details regarding parking, weather forecast, etc. as the date draws closer.
Our theme this year is "Cavaliers Rock & Roll". New this year, we will be having a costume contest with lots of special awards for best dressed (oldest, youngest, 2 and 4 legged, group, etc).
Rumor has it that there may be multiple Cavalier Elvis sightings so you will not want to miss this one!
As many folks know, we always have plenty of food, drink and activities. We do not charge for this event, but hope to raise lots of money through donations and raffles for a local and very worthwhile group Animal Friends Rescue Project. These hardworking people, mostly volunteers, do a great job of helping our companions (both dogs and cats) who have not led lives as fortunate as our Cavaliers.
We have suggested a donation of $15./adult, $5./children, $40./family -- but this is merely a suggestion -- we are happy to have you participate and enjoy an afternoon at the beach with a great gang of two and four legged attendees.
Everyone making a donation will receive ONE raffle ticket. Additional tickets will also be available, which will increase your chances of winning a fabulous prize (and donating to a worthwhile cause).
I will also be sending out in a separate email a request for assistance for the day of the party. If you are local, or will be coming into town on the Friday evening before the event perhaps you would consider helping with early morning set up. It shouldn't take more than an hour or so. We will also need help during the party - greeting guests, name tags, selling raffle tickets, helping with the costume contest, setting out food, etc. Nothing too onerous, but activities which will ensure everyone has a great time.

Hope to see everyone tomoorow! We haven't made it to a Sac meet up group in so long we may not know who all is a part of it, but would like to meet you!!

Who attended?

  • 6 attendees
    •  It was a beautiful day and there was a great turn out! Lots of Cavaliers attended. This was my 2nd year attending and we had a blast!! Hopefully next year if more people from SAcramento attend we can have a little area where we can meet!
    •  This was a great party. there were more than 200 dogs at this party. I have been to several of them. The weather was the best I have seen. This was a benifit for an animal rescue group. The people who host this event are truely wonderful. I know they rasied several thousand dollors for their charity. I have some wonderful pictures I will share at the next meet up.
    •  It was our first time attending the Beach Party and we had a fabulous time, more importantly our babies Gomez & Olivia enjoyed themselves. We let them off their leashes and Gomez had a blast getting into every bodies business. He was besides himself with excitement and slept like a baby all the way home. Olivia is a little shy but I think it was enjoyable for her also. We went and came the same day next year we'll arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday.
    •  So many beautiful Cavaliers!! Wonderful owners, great costumes and Cavaliers of every size and shape. Great organization of the "beach party", wonderful food, drink, prizes and all "humans" were just as warm and friendly as the Cavaliers who own them. First year for us, we will go back! As much fun as the beach on Saturday was seeing Carmel full of Cavaliers on the streets, in the hotels and at breakfast Sunday morning..... getting aquantied all over again. This is a special event, one not to be missed. Rita & Greg...proud parents of Katie Colleen (KC) and Egan
